Certificate of Appointment of James O. Cook as Postmaster of the Post Office at Bates, Arkansas on May 20, 1938. Otto was always proud of this job and this certificate that was signed by James A. Farley. James A. Farley was a very important man in President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Cabinet and administration. It was somewhat coincidental that James A. Farley was a graduate many years earlier of the same school in Virginia where James O. Cook, Jr. graduated, Fork Union Military Academy. Also Mr. Farley was the speaker for the 1957 Fork Union Military Academy graduation class of which James O. Cook, Jr. was a member. |
