Mary Jane Barnes    Henry and Clara McCord
Mary Jane Barnes McCord with Guy LeMay (?). Mary Jane Barnes married Henry Junius McCord in Sebastian County in 1873. They apparently lived in Greenwood, Arkansas until Henry J.'s death in 1894.    Henry Junius McCord II with his wife Clara Mae (Bethel)

Some of the Charlie J. Hart and Mary Jane (Barnes) McCord Hart Family. From left are: Bertha (Lemay) Johnson and daughter Irma Dean, Charlie J. and wife Mary Jane (Barnes) McCord Hart, Artie (McCord) Lemay with Henry Stamps in front, Roxie (McCord) Stamps with Guy Lemay in front, Clara Mae (Bethel) McCord. Charlie Hart was Mary Jane McCords second husband. Her first husband, Henry Junius McCord died in 1894. Their children were Artie, Jon, Jason, Roxie and Henry J. McCord. This photo is from about 1920.    Henry, Roxie and Jason McCord, children of Henry Junius and Mary Jane McCord. Henry Junius came to Arkansas from South Carolina around 1860. He joined the Conferate Army in Fort Smith and was a Colonel in the 35th Arkansas Infantry. After the Civil War he married Mary Jane Barnes from the Hartford/ Sugarloaf area. Their oldest daughter, Arblissie "Artie" (not shown), was married to Johnny W. LeMay of Bates.

Henry Junius McCord II with his wife Clara Mae (Bethel) and their daugther Catherine and son Byron, also called Barney. Their other children were Victor Emanuel (he died when only 6 years old), Jerry B. and Eddie Lee. The family lived in Bates until 1942 when Henry died and the sons all went in the service. After the War Clara McCord and her sons lived in Waldron for several years. Photo from about 1924.    Roxie McCord and her sister Arblissie Artie McCord. Roxie married Ed Stamps of Bates and Artie married Johnny LeMay of Bates.

Henry Junius and Clara Mae Bethel McCord with their grandchildren, Peggy Faye and Jimmy (James) Cook at Bates in about 1941.    Mary Jane Barnes McCord, wife of Henry Junius McCord who was some 20 years older than Mary Jane. Henry Junius died in 1894, 3 months before their son Henry J. McCord II was born. Mary Jane married Charles Hart later and lived out their lives in Bates. This photo was from an old Tin Type in poor condition.
