Song Book Front Cover Song Book Back Cover
Showers of Blessing church song book given to James Samuel Cook of Bates, Arkansas by his cousin W.N. Stewart that lived in Akins, Oklahoma at the time. James's mother was Susan Stewart and possibly W.N.'s father was Susan's brother James T. Stewart. W.N. Stewart could have been Winsor Stewart This little song book was given to James O. Cook, Jr., a grandson of James S. Cook, by his Aunt Iva Cook Plummer in about 1972. When James O. Cook, Jr. and his cousin Donna Cook Freeman started trying to trace ancestors it was the writing inside the front cover that gave the clue to who and where to start on finding the Stewarts.

Page 93 - A Christmas song entitled "Christmas Song". It seems that since the page numbers for two Christmas songs were written on this page that the book was given as a Christmas present.

Who or when the James Cook in purple was written is not known. It could have been written by William Stewart!

Note: the composer of the lyrics for this song was a person by the name of A.J. Cook. Whether that person was any relation to James Cook is doubtful.
