An item concerning JOSEPH D.UNDERWOOD and his wife WINIFRED HENDERSON appears in the Culpeper tax lists from 1782 through 1788. Around 1789 he moved to Elbert County, Georgia. In 1807 they sold 138 acres on Vanns Creek in Elbert County to Joseph Henderson, probably her brother. 'He died in 1822 in Elbert Co., Ga. Will of Joseph Underwood,Sr. page 95 To wife Winifred homeplace, a slave to go to dau. Elizabeth Norwood at her death. To eldest son William H. the land on which he lives. The rest to be divided between sons Reuben and Joseph at the death of my wife. To Daus. Sally Johnston, Anna Patterson, and Polly haley, $1.00 each in addition what they have already received. Land in Irwin Co., to be divided among all the children except Anna Patterson. Signed nov. 21, 1821. Probated Oct 30, 1822 Permelia Norwood, Wm. R. Powell, Chas Wheeler, Test. An item concerning CECIL F. UNDERWOOD and his wife WINIFRED HENDERSON
Wanda and Cecil lived in Russellville, Arkansas for a while, they moved to Ozark, Arkansas for a while then they moved to Bates, Scott County, Arkansas where they lived most of their married life. Wanda was living in Waldron, Arkansas with her mother and father when she died at the Scott County hospital there in Waldron, Arkansas. Cecil was living in Heavener, Leflore county, Oklahoma when he died.
Wanda was a homemaker, Cecil was a logger, a sawmiller.
Cecil is buried at the Sliger 2 cemetery in the Harper field there in bates, Scott county, Arkansas. Wanda Harrison Underwood is buried in the Duncan cemetery in Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas.
